Development of High Available and High Performance 6G Cross Cloud Infrastructure Technology

The primary goal is to develop high-performance and high-availability 6G cross-cloud infrastructure technologies for telecommunications. This involves creating a cloud-native infrastructure to operate 6G services in heterogeneous cloud environments, ensuring robust performance and reliability through container-centric infrastructure, FaaS-based provisioning, computing-communication optimization, and a unified management platform.
The project will validate these technologies via open-source 6G cloud testbeds, demonstrating RAN and Core CNF operations. Final deliverables include a telco-grade 6G cloud infrastructure system and a cross-cloud management platform (software).
The project is progressed into 2 stages.
- Stage1 – Develop 6G cloud infrastructure (Telco Cloud Stack v1.0) and management platform framework.
- Build telco CaaS using OpenStack and Baremetal-as-a-Service.
- Develop service/resource specification, provisioning, and orchestration for CNFs.
- Create Overlay Network (CNI) and acceleration functions (SR-IOV, DPDK).
- Establish GitOps-based management cluster and monitoring.
- Demonstrate 5G Core CNF deployment and lifecycle management.
- Stage2 – Advance 6G cloud infrastructure (Telco Cloud Stack v2.0) and integrated management system.
- Enhance CaaS across three cloud types with Anuket RA2.
- Optimize computing-communication with eBPF and SmartNIC.
- Upgrade management platform with PaaS/FaaS and integrated dashboard.
- Develop RAN-Core CNF lifecycle management and service migration.
- Demonstrate RAN-Core integration and 6G Evolved SBA-based Core CNF.

- Automated Telco infrastructure and 5G Core Network (CN) deployment in AWS environment

- Automate resource and Bootstrap Management Cluster creation in AWS using Ansible.
- Establish multi-cluster environment and automate 5G CN deployment using open-source tools.
- Configure inter-cluster networking and 5G network environment in multi-cluster settings using open-source solutions.
- Design of PaaS platform architecture in cloud infrastructure

- Define developer interaction layer for CI/CD pipeline triggering and monitoring.
- Define independent Git repository for storing application source code and infrastructure configuration files.
- Define open-source Continuous Deployment (CD) pipeline to synchronize Git repository and actual cluster states.
- Analyze candidate components to provide additional functionalities based on various Cloud-Native Function (CNF) requirements.
